“Welcome to Medicare” Seminar Offered by Loring

Are you going to be eligible for Medicare in the near future? Have you been on Medicare for a while and want to better understand what it offers? Do you have a family member you help with Medicare issues? If you answered yes to any of these questions, Loring Hospital encourages you to attend an upcoming “Welcome to Medicare” seminar. This seminar, presented by one of Loring Hospital’s Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) counselors, LeAnn Olhausen, will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 5-7 p.m. The seminar will take place in Loring Hospital’s main conference room located in the hospital at 211 Highland Avenue, Sac City. Light refreshments will be available for attendees.

Loring Hospital in Sac City is set to host a Chamber Coffee event on April 9 at 9:30 a.m. to welcome orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Prashanth Anand, to its team of outpatient specialty providers. Dr. Anand, who is a physician of CNOS, PC, and works at UnityPoint Health in Fort Dodge, sees patients at Loring Hospital on the second and fourth Thursday of each month.

Loring Hospital in Sac City has partnered with Senior Life Solutions to help older adults who are experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, or other mental challenges often associated with aging. The new Senior Life Solutions program is located at Loring Hospital in Sac City.

Loring Hospital welcomes orthopedic surgeon Dr. Prashanth Anand

Loring Hospital is pleased to welcome board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Prashanth Anand of the Center for Neurosciences, Orthopedics & Spine (CNOS), to its team of outpatient specialty providers. Dr. Anand will begin seeing patients at Loring Hospital on the second and fourth Thursday of each month beginning Jan. 22.

Compiled by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards program recognizes top quartile performance (i.e., 75th percentile or above) among rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes, and/or Patient Perspective.

Bomgaars to Host Event Benefitting Loring Healthcare Foundation

Bomgaars of Sac City is set to host its annual Ladies Night on Nov. 2, 2025, from 5-8 p.m., in which five percent of total sales will be donated to the Loring Healthcare Foundation. The night will include giveaways and a twenty percent discount on regular-priced merchandise.

“Manufacturing My Miracle: One Woman’s Quest to Create Her Personalized Gene Therapy” Snack and Learn Event Scheduled for Oct. 8

Loring Hospital is set to host a “snack and learn” event on Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. The event will feature a discussion of the book, “Manufacturing My Miracle: One Woman’s Quest to Create Her Personalized Gene Therapy,” written by the late Jill Dopf Viles. The event is set to take place in the hospital’s conference room located in the facility’s new expansion. Jill’s life and work will be shared by her husband, Jeremy Viles, and her sister, Janet Albanese.

Healthiest State Walk 2025

Loring Hospital’s Healthiest State Walk Scheduled for Oct. 1

Loring Hospital’s upcoming community-wide is taking place on Wednesday, Oct. 1 from noon – 1 p.m. The hospital is hosting the walk as part of the 15th Annual Iowa Healthiest State Initiative.
